→ David Brainerd (1718-1747), issu de Nouvelle-Angleterre, héritier du puritanisme et du premier grand réveil, il fut missionnaire parmi les Indiens d'Amérique du Nord. Peu après sa mort, Johathan Edwards écrivit sa biographie.
